ABOUT THIS FUNDRAISER

This fundraiser, the northwest cancer climb, is organized by the health disparity and global health interns of the Binaytara Foundation, an international non-profit based in Issaquah, WA.

Our health disparity and global health internship is a one-year program that offers interns unique learning opportunities and challenges to grow as compassionate and caring leaders in the healthcare field.

As part of their learning and growth challenge, interns design and execute fundraising activities to support our projects in the United States and Nepal.

This fundraising hike is led by our intern Vidhi Singh who is completing her one-year internship in September 2021. Vidhi has chosen the women's cancer center at the Binaytara Foundation Cancer Center in Janakpur as the beneficiary of this fundraiser.

Please help Vidhi by supporting this fundraiser, and most importantly, help save thousands of lives in Nepal!

WHERE WILL YOUR MONEY GO?

All money raised will help us create a world-class Women's Cancer Center at the BInaytara Foundation Cancer Center in Janakpur, Nepal.

The Binaytara Foundation Cancer Center is the only of its kind in the region and serves more than 15 million underserved people in Nepal and India.

Every year in Nepal over 4,000 women are diagnosed, and 2,000 women die from breast and cervical cancer alone.

In Nepal, there is very little focus on preventing women's cancers and finding them in the early stages. However, we are already working alongside the communities to screen for cervical cancer and breast cancer, as well as treat those in need.

With a new Women's Cancer Center we can have mammography machines, more screening slots for cervical cancer, proper facilities to treat women-specific cancers, and a place to offer preventive education.

Your donations will help us save thousands of lives and impact millions of lives. We could not do this without your help!

What is NWCC?

The #NWCC is a fundraising hike that supports the Binaytara Foundation's efforts to improve cancer care in the United States and Globally. NWCC is not just a hike; for many of our hikers, it is their way of supporting a loved one who is fighting cancer and commemorate the ones who were taken from them.

Why do we hike?

Hiking is good for our physical and mental health. But that is not the only reason why hundreds of hikers support the NWCC. They support because they care, and they want to make a difference in the lives of those affected by cancer. We are thankful that you care!

How can you help?

You can help by hiking with us; by creating a pledge page to support our efforts; by volunteering before and during the hike; and by organizing similar hikes.

Parking is limited where we will start the hike, as it is with all popular trailheads. We recommend carpooling (while following COVID-19 guidelines) with an experienced driver/a reliable vehicle.

Thank you for your support!
